On 18 September 2009 Capacity Global will launch their report and maniesto: ’21 Years On: Environment and Diversity’. Professor Julian Agyeman (pictured) will be the keynote speaker at the event. Julian is a member of Capacity Global’s Advisory Board and Professor and Chair of the Department of Urban and Environmental Policy and Planning, at the Massachusetts-based Tufts University.
This is an open, free event but registration is required. Read on for further details and online registration.
As part of the Every Action Counts programme, Capacity Global was commissioned to work on diversity, environment and sustainable development. The report is now completed and illustrates that 21 years on from one of the first conferences on diversity in the environment sector we need to build on the work that has been done to date and develop a future plan of action.
On the basis of the report Capacity Global will be launching a report and ‘manifesto’ of action required by the sector to include: BAME’s (Black, Asian, and Ethnic minorities), disabled people and young people. Baring in mind the need for collective action in a multi cultural society to tackle climate change putting the issue of inclusion on the environmental agenda is crucial. The launch of the report will take place at the seminar in London on the 18th September, COIN Street, Conference Centre.
